The Will of the Many: Catenan Academy

The transvect sets you down on Solivagus with a new name on your papers and a sponsor in Caten who expects a return on you. The Catenan Academy sorts its students the way the Republic sorts everyone, in a pyramid, and at the bottom you sleep in a hall with eighty-three other Sevenths while the Thirds eat on the top floor. The boy everyone calls Catenicus arrives the same week, and so does the rumour that students die in the Iudicium. Your house is watching your rank. Someone else is watching your past. You play a seventeen-year-old newcomer of your own making through the Academy year, climbing from Class Seven toward the Iudicium, and you can fall for Vis, Callidus, Eidhin or Emissa while you work out what Solivagus is hiding.
