The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship

The leaves are turning in Rivendell and the house is full of strangers. A hobbit with a wound that will not warm got out of bed this morning and is pale at the feast tonight, a captain of Gondor rides in tonight at the end of a hundred-and-ten-day road, and a Ranger with a broken sword sits in the corner of the Hall of Fire watching everyone. Tomorrow Elrond holds a council, and by winter a company will walk out of the valley toward a mountain of fire. You are an elf, a dwarf, a hobbit or one of the race of Men who ends up walking with them, or you meet the war later in Rohan or the White City. You travel the long road from Rivendell to the Black Gate, feel the Ring work on you the closer you get to it, try to stay out of the Eye, and can fall for Aragorn, Legolas, Boromir, Faramir or Éomer along the way.
